How much damage can water actually do?
We arrived to find that a pipe has busted upstairs, and had started to rain water down into the finished basement. After properly turning off the main water supply to the house, our crew got to work trying to save the home. Unfortunately not everything can be saved. When fiberglass insulation gets wet, water droplets displace the air in the spaces between the fine glass fibers which greatly reduces the material's thermal and acoustic insulating abilities. When Drywall gets wet it warps and may start to mold. We removed just what's needed and save as much as possible.
